Field Testing Coordinator - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
Geotechnics is looking for a Field Testing Coordinator
to act as a technical coordinator in providing deep
foundation testing on bridge structures, building
foundations, power plant foundations and wastewater
treatment plants. Using a Pile Driver Analyzer (PDA),
the foundation testing involves attaching two force and
two acceleration gages to steel piles and then pile is
driven into the ground with a large driving hammer.
Geotechnics is looking for a person with the following
key education and skills:

Civil/Structural engineering or geology education
-
Experience in heavy construction
-
Read and interpret construction plans and
specifications
-
Soils and concrete testing and inspection
-
Computer
-
Excellent verbal and written skills
Responsibility will include but not limited too:
-
Set-up and perform dynamic testing/monitoring of
deep foundations on construction sites. Monitor
hammer/driving system performance, pile driving
stresses, pile integrity and asses the test piles
ultimate static bearing capacity using CAPWAP and
the Wave Equation Analysis software.

Perform analysis of collected data and prepare
reports for the clients in a timely and accurate
manner.

Update and maintain PDA computers and software as
well as all equipment dealing with PDA testing.

Geotechnical test in the lab.
Work
Schedule:

Normal workweek is 40 hours per week. With this
said, Geotechnics provides a service that must be
responsive to the immediate needs of our clients and
their project schedules. The work schedules can
sometimes stretch into the weekend or into extra
hours.
Geotechnical Laboratory Lead
Technician – Raleigh, North Carolina
Seeking talented geotechnical laboratory lead technician
with 1-3 years experience performing laboratory testing,
as well as a general understanding of triaxial strength
testing, permeability testing, direct shear,
consolidation and classification testing. Successful
candidates must have strong
communication, math and interpersonal skills. NICET,
ACI certifications preferred but training and
certifications available. Candidate must be able
to work independently and be a team player. A valid
driver’s license required, as is ability to work
overtime as necessary.
Education Requirements: Prefer college coursework in
Civil Engineering, Soils, Geology or Environmental
Science.

To be considered, you should have up to 3 years
experience in laboratory testing, along with a general
understanding of performing classification testing such
as moisture contents, Atterberg Limits, Grainsize, etc.
Successful candidates must have strong communication,
math and interpersonal skills. Must be a team player
and able to work independently. NICET, ACI
certifications preferred but training and certifications
available. Valid driver’s license required, as is
ability to work overtime as needed.
Education Requirements: Prefer some college coursework
or technical training in Civil Engineering, Soils,
Geology or Environmental Science. However, we are open
to candidates who are willing to learn in a laboratory
setting.
