Geotechnics, Inc. has expanded their field instrumentation services to include Dynamic Pile Testing. Dynamic Pile Testing is performed with a Pile Driving Analyzer® (PDA) to quickly and confidently assess the capacity and integrity of driven piles. The system utilizes strain gauges and accelerometers that are attached to the pile while being driven to generate quantitative information on the ultimate pile capacity, the hammer performance and the stresses induced in the pile. Engineering firms worldwide, as well as many State and Federal Highway agencies, are now specifying PDA testing in place of expensive and time consuming static load tests for their deep foundation projects.
The CAPWAP software program utilizes the soil conditions and provides the engineer with the following wave information:
- Shaft resistance, magnitude and distribution
- End bearing
- Shaft and toe damping
- Shaft and toe quake
