Radial Transmissivity Apparatus
|
Designed to measure the transmissivity of geosynthetic materials, primarily geotextiles, which have water transmissivity values less than 2x10-4 cm2/s. The test method is the alternative to ASTM D 4716 for materials with low transmissivity values. The system can also be used for air transmissivity testing.
- Optimal Design - Employs 12" (305mm) diameter test specimens with the inlet opening measuring 2" (5.0cm) in diameter.
- Versatility - Water manometer measures influent pressure when running air or other gas transmissivity tests readable to 1mm.
- Flexibility - Performs hydraulic or air in-plane transmissivity tests.
- Pressure transducers option available in place of water manometer for air transmissivity testing.
- Components - Radial transmissivity base unit, loading platen, manometer, flow meter, pressure regulator and steel table (water circulation equipment and dead weights are not included).
- Water Gradients - 0.01 to 4.0.
- Pressure Head - Air 30" (76cm) of water or 1.1 psi max.
- Specimen Size - 12" (305mm) O.D. x 2" (5.0mm) I.D.
- Table Footprint - 24" by 36" (0.6m x 0.9m).
- Overall Height - 61" (1.5m).
- Total Weight - 40 lbs (18kg.) including shipping container.

Gradient Ratio Apparatus
|
Used to assess the clogging potential of a geotextile filter in accordance with ASTM D 5101. The unit is supplied with injection-type manometer taps to eliminate sidewall influences on pressure head measurements. Includes soil-leveling device, wooden tapping dowel, clay piping, support screens and wire mesh.
- Easy to Read - Concise manometer board.
- Technician Friendly - Available with 6" (150mm) diameter permeameters to simplify soil placement.
- Accurate Flow Control - Constant head devices are designed to provide precise control of system gradients, with larger CHDs with the 6" (150mm) diameter permeameter available for testing coarse granular materials with permeabilities up to 1cm/s at gradients up to 5.
- Components - Gradient ratio rigid wall permeameter, load platen, manometer board, two constant head devices, leveling device, metal support screens and four injection taps (water circulation pump not included).
- Permeability Range - To 5 x 10-2 cm/s at gradient of 10 with standard CHDs.
- Total Weight - 40 lbs (18kg.) including shipping container.

Permittivity Apparatus
|
"the permittivity apparatus is another great piece of equipment provided by Geopro"
Jonathan McCulley,
QC Manager, Tenax Corporation
The apparatus is designed to accurately measure the permittivity of geotextiles using either the constant or falling head methods, depending on the magnitude of the sample permittivity. Manometers provide accurate measurement of influent and effluent pressure head during testing. Both systems minimize velocity transitions in the outflow segment, virtually eliminating device head losses (even to flow rates exceeding 8 gpm).
- Superior Hydraulics - Uses elements of both closed pipe and open channel flow for precise control of head loss.
- Easy to Read - Designed for quick, easy change-out of test specimens.
- Electronic timing device for falling head testing available.
- Components - Permittivity device, table, ancillary water collection and circulation equipment.
- Flow Rates - To 12gpm (0.176 l/s)
- Permittivity - To 5.0 sec-1 at 2" (5.0cm) head loss.
- Specimen Size - 3,625,00/2.0 in
- Table Footprint - 48" by 24" (0.76m x 0.61m).
- Overall Height - 56" (1.422m).
- Total Weight - 300 lbs. (136kg) including shipping crate.
- Operating Weight - With max water, 650 lbs. (295kg).

Transmissivity Apparatus
|
"with the purchase of the Geopro transmissivity rig, our overall productivity in the laboratory has increased significantly"
Jonathan McCulley,
QC Manager, Tenax Corporation
Engineered to measure the transmissivity of a wide range of geosynthetic materials, the system has a convenient loading tray with nine internal manometer taps that are ideal for investigating the internal hydraulic behavior of the drainage media. The hydraulic loading system can sustain applied loading throughout the testing period to the specified tolerance of +/- 2%.
- Flexibility - Can be used with soil sub and superstrates.
- Easy to read - Timing the rising site tube level simplifies the high-flow measurement.
- Pressure transducer with digital display for gradients less than 0.10.
- Components - Reservoir Box, outlet weir, loading tray, manometry, hydraulic ram, pump, load cell and ancilliary water circulation equipment. Flow Rates 10 gallons per minute (0.63 l/s)
- Gradients - 0.005 to 2.0
- Loading - 200 to 30,000 lbs. (0.89 to 133 kN)
- Loaded Area - 12" X 12" (305mm x 305mm)
- Tray Opening - 0.5" Standard, 1.0", 1.5" and 2.0" available
- Table Footprint - 74" X 24" (1.9m x 0.6m)
- Overall Height - 75" (1.9m)
- Total Weight - 970 lbs. (440 kg)
- Operating Weight - 1,600 lbs. (726kg) with water
